Australia & Pacific distribution with Ronin Films

Happy to announce that a distribution deal for Forgotten Bird of Paradise covering Australia and the Pacific has been signed with Ronin Films.

Ronin Films have a long-standing reputation for championing independent and socially engaged cinema, with a particular focus on reaching schools, universities, government departments, and a wide network of community, social and solidarity groups. Their approach goes beyond traditional distribution, placing films directly into educational and grassroots contexts where they can spark discussion, critical thinking and meaningful engagement.

This partnership represents an important step in expanding the reach of the film. By bringing Forgotten Bird of Paradise into classrooms and community spaces across the region, it opens up new opportunities for audiences to learn about and reflect on the ongoing situation in West Papua. It also creates a platform for deeper conversations around human rights, self-determination and the legacy of colonialism in the Pacific.

There is a strong history of solidarity with West Papua across Australia and neighbouring countries, and it is my hope that through this collaboration the film can contribute to that awareness in a more direct and impactful way. Reaching students, educators and local organisations means the story has the potential to travel further, resonate more deeply and inspire continued dialogue.
