Documentary award

Forgotten Bird of Paradise has been awarded ‘Best Short Documentary’ at the 2015 Davis International Film Festival in California, USA. More than 1100 films were submitted to the festival from more than 80 countries.

As part of the award, screenings of the film will take place in Davis on Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Richard Brunelle Performance Hall, 315 W. 14th St. In addition, screenings are scheduled in San Francisco on Sept. 22, 23, and 24th 2015.

The Opening Ceremony included performances by famous singer Gexuan Huang, classic Chinese guqin music by virtuoso Weijun Zhang, and dancers and masters of martial arts from China and the U.S. The Cheongsam Fashion Show troupe from the San Francisco Bay Area will present Qipao (Chinese Mandarin classic fashion). Former Davis mayor Joe Krovoza and Nan Li, anchorwoman of Hunan Television Station will be the emcees for the event. Celebrity guests will include Robert Alexander, CEO/President of the Motion Picture Hall of Fame, China’s most influential young film director Baogang Zhao, movie stars Yong Yu and Zhicheng Ding and many others from Hollywood and Beijing.
