Forgotten Bird of Paradise will screen on NITV (National Indigenous Television) in Australia at 7:30pm on Wednesday 24th February, 5pm on Saturday 9th April, and 10am on Saturday 20th May.
These broadcasts form part of a wider agreement with the channel, which will see the film aired a total of 40 times between September 2013 and September 2016. This extended run reflects a strong commitment to ensuring the documentary reaches a broad and diverse audience across Australia, with multiple opportunities for viewers to engage with the story over an extended period.
NITV’s focus on Indigenous voices and perspectives makes it a particularly meaningful platform for the film. By placing Forgotten Bird of Paradise within this context, the screenings create space for deeper connections between audiences and the experiences of West Papuans, while also encouraging dialogue around shared histories of colonisation, identity and resistance.
